PHYSICAL ROCKET "Let It Rock Again" / 3 Tracks / 10 Min The four rockets from Sweden hold their name in honor. They rock you hard until you’re soaked in sweat and that makes the sound a physical experience as well. That isn’t however not at all understood, because at the 2nd of October 2003, their drummer Svante Lindquist passed away after a tragic accident. The band was founded 1997 by Jonas Asplund(g), Peter Karbelius(b) and Svante Lindquist(d), which brought-along the singer Eva Roennquist, which completed the lineup. They hit the road and later on it was time to cut the first CD and an EP followed later. In 2003 it looks as things started to happen for the rockets but then disaster struck. The band decided to continue playing together as PHYSICAL ROCKET and looked for a new drummer. With Jocke Troëng on drums the band entered the studio again in June 2004 to record LET IT ROLL AGAIN. GO BETTER breaks out like a hurricane, that’s kick ass rock'n'roll. They get to the point fervid and reckless. The title track LET IT ROLL AGAIN has more punk attitude than GO BETTER, but it is still like drive at 200 km/h on the fast lane. The bad thing at the COME ON is that it’s already the final track. The tune is not any longer so speedy and at the intro as well at the break before the guitar-solo are in evidence some MAIDEN influences. That comes unexpectedly in this rock'n'punk, but is damn cool. The demo sounds quite rough, but who cares. 8 points. This is normally the end of a review , but I’m a lucky guy. The PHYSICAL ROCKET attached their 2002 Promo with another two songs. Thus I come into the benefit of two further Songs. STEAL ME has all the described qualities of the other Songs, full power and hit directly your headbanger muscles. The straight rock tune astonishes with likewise MAIDEN-like breaks in the middle part. IF YOU WANT IT ALL RIGHT is again fodder for the rockers heart. If the band kick ass on stage in such a way as on CD, and I assume that, their gigs must be living hell. In front of stage there fly hair, stage divers and beer. As even on a real rock'n'roll party. 8.5 points (Scari) << back to press |
